How to Make Failure A Positive
Quit looking at failure as if it's the end!
Instead think of it as a challenge and a place to grow from.
Here are some tips on dealing with [perceived] failure:
Learn to be flexible. Plans are great to have. You need those road maps to arrive at your destination. But sometimes you'll encounter roadblocks. Don't throw your hands in the air just yet! Instead plan a new route, and keep on moving!
Nearly everything in life can be considered a learning opportunity with the right frame of mind. Take your failure and learn how to do better the next time around.
Don't be afraid to ask for help. We are not meant to go through life alone. We have friends, family, colleagues, spouses for a reason. They are your support system! Swallow your pride, or embarrassment, or whatever it is making you fear admitting you need a hand, AND REACH OUT. We are lifted up by others and made better for it.
If you need a minute to step back and breathe, TAKE IT! In fact, I insist you take that space. Sometimes we all need a minute to recover and let our emotions resume neutral position before we can gain the clarity we need to proceed.
Use that space you allow yourself to remember what it is you set out to do. Imagine yourself there now, let yourself go through the feelings of achieving your goals. Remind yourself why you want that so badly. You will feel invigorated and gain back the motivation to persevere!
Failure is not the end! It means you tried. You took the risk. You saw that the possible outcome would be worth the gamble. So pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and get back out there!
